A seed is planted...

The Brailsford family had two daughters and sometime about the year of 1809, the eldest daughter, Mary Ann, was playing in the kitchen and decided to plant some seeds in a flower pot (as many a child will do). These seeds, or pips, were taken from apples that were being prepared by her mother. One of these seeds germinated and when too big for the pot, was planted in the garden of the cottage and produced the tree that was later to bear a unique apple. [more...]
