New Committee for Porchfield Village Hall Fund
The new Porchfield Village Fund Committee held its inaugural meeting on Thursday 16th May 2002. The role of the new committee is to co-ordinate the dayto- day running of the Village Hall and also to undertake to raise funds for the eventual re-building of the hall at the end of the current building’s usable life, estimated to be at some point in the next 20 to 40 years. The roof on the building will also need replacing at some point in the next 10 to 15 years. The hall itself is used by a wide variety of local clubs and groups including:

• Mothers and toddlers group (Tuesday mornings 9am-12 noon)
• Youth Club (Wednesday evenings, term time only 6:15pm-7:30pm)
• Gardening Club (first Tuesday of every month, 7:30pm)
  For summer events, contact James or Freda
• Bowling Club (Monday evenings 7-9pm)
• Women’s Institute (2nd Thursday of every month, 6:30-9:30pm)

The hall itself is available for hire for all types of function, for example; children’s parties, jumble sales, birthday parties etc. For current hire charges, please see the bottom of this page, where you will also find contact information for the Committee Chairman, Secretary and Booking Clerk. The hall is there for the use of the local community and is in danger of falling into dis-repair if we are unable to raise the fund in order to rebuild. If we can raise half of the required amount, then we can apply for matched funding to make up the full amount. To do this, we need your help. Please think of using the hall for your next function.
